Digital (Did You Tell) by Stone Sour

Not because yesterday was my late father's birthday that this random though came to me, but I had realized that I was more like him than I would have thought sooner.  It came to me how much technology had advanced in the years that he was alive. Through most of it he had embraced it such as tvs, satelite tv programming, phones, but there was a point where he refused to use it. There was a time when I was younger than I could remember my father was working to layout the fiber-optics that we all use today. He told me then that in the coming years we would be able to talk to each other using camera's inside of our phones. He saw the future of technology and I believed him as all young girl's believe their fathers. I didn't picture the future as it it is now. As he said it, I pictured a screen placed on the wall next to the phones, not cell phones with camera's inside of them that we would carry everywhere we go. I'm not sure if that is what he saw as well, but he...

Take Your Best Shot by Dope

Last night I had a very off the wall conversation, but after we talked about it for a while it all just clicked inside of my mind. All of it seemed so real inside of my mind that the What if's came through into something that could be considered a great story. It is a bit far fetched for my writing. It is entering into the science fiction realm that I had never ventured towards, but man, what a story it would be to tell that one. I wrote down everything that I could remember. Someday, I hope to come up with a great story with it. Basically all I have is a time line that it borders on, but if somehow, someway I can figure out how to add a story line to it... I could see the story going far into the unknown. What would be great is if it was a million dollar idea. I could see this idea being the background for a great story, whether it be a book or a movie. I have wondered several hundred times whether or if I should consider starting to write screenplays. After all that is how thes...

Get Inside by Stone Sour

There are times where I run these random thoughts through my mind, literally writing it word for word. When the time comes that I sit down at the computer to copy and paste these thoughts, it never comes out the same. The basic idea is still there, most of the story is there, but my random thoughts begin taking on a life of their own as soon as they reach the paper or screen.  I take all of these ideas the whirlwind around my mind, start writing, and then those random thoughts have random thoughts of their own. So I must warn all of you, when I begin writing I do have an ending in mind, although it never truly ends the way I had thought. Then there are times where I will end it just like in my thoughts, but I never stop writing. I continue until I feel that everything is out in the open. So just when you think that it is the end, it truly isn't the end. These thoughts wonder through my mind, even after I have written them down. I sit, quite frequently, and ponder about everythi...

Home Again by Stone Sour

I am going to blatantly admit that this was not my random thought, but it stirred up a lot of them inside my mind as I tried to fall asleep. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: (for those of you who did not read my last post, I remarked on how my last christmas was rather awful) Watching this movie last night was a severe eye opener. As we laughed and enjoyed the movie I watched Clark Griswald lose his last nut as it were when the squirrel and dog reeked havoc on his home. When the remark came out from beside me I found myself lost in what was, "That was last year here." I dove back into my memories, more so than I had initially done, and that movie in a sense represented my last two christmases. (Without the humor.) Except last year instead of there being a squirrel in the tree and destroying the entire house, (I will allow all of you to know that no children were present and this was not on christmas eve.) I will admit, I was the squirrel and the dog. I will not ...

Stronger, Better, More

Ok so the title is not a song title, rather it is lyrics and the song is called Wherein Lies Continue... but I would rather not have such a depressing title for such a wonderful, loving post. So I will just go with the words as they are singing in the background of my mind. I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas full of love and family. Mine was absolutely wonderful because the best present I saw was everyone was happy and joyous. My presents brought tons of smiles and cheers to the faces of those I love, even though my daughter told me I was mean (in a good way). Her most prized gift was wrapped so well that it took her a while to dig into it. I'm talking bubble wrap and packing tape inside a box wrapped in packing tape, then wrapped in paper with packing tape holding it all together with a few bows and name tags. I decorated it very carefully and wrapped it even better. (I just realized how many times that I wrote wrap or conjunctions of wrap in two sentences. Isn't it a...

Come Whatever May by Stone Sour

This story is written by my own son. The Day-Dreamer So I will begin this, let us call it a tale, with an introduction. I am Alex Pennway at the time I was seventeen, your average student. I was pretty indifferent about most but I do like to read and listen to the radio whenever I can. I have also had this great innate ability to day-dream quite well. This tale takes place in Bathe 1978, and on that day I would be a little later than normal arriving home. This year so far had been fairly cold and yet all I had dressed in had been my school uniform. A light tan t-shirt with khaki pants, yet today had been warmer than most. Summer had been rearing its fiery head in spite of the closing winter. Anyways, I walked down the same path I had always taken, but today nothing was out of the ordinary except for one thing. There was a quaint bookstore on the side of the road that I never truly had the pleasure of visiting, but today it was different. There was a queer sign inscrutable to my ...

Zzyzx Road By Stone Sour

Just in case you were all wondering... nothing happened to me. I am still here and still writing, writing, and writing. I had been working on Apollo's Light to finish it, then realized that there was no ending in sight. I had initially ended it almost exactly how I wanted, until I realized that it was not truly the end. Based off of the End of Days this book must follow basic guidelines of that time period as prophesied. Well, I have a 'short time' that I must get through before the End of Days truly rears its ugly head and Aris can take her rightful spot. (I'm not spoiling where she ends up). Regardless, I have hit a area that I'm not sure that it is the best road to take for Aris now and I  contemplating a different road. So I went up one road and now as I look back I see a path through the trees wondering if I should go back and take the small path. Either way I have not stopped the story, but I had come up with some wonderful ideas for Approaching Fate while goi...
